Screenbook Maker is free software - there is no charge for the use of Screenbook Maker.

Version 1.0 is due out in February of 2002. The main new feature in Version 1.0 will be that you can make screenshots in any resolution and Screenbook Maker will reduce the image size to 640 x 480 while preserving the legibility of the image as much as possible.

Requirements:

The current beta version of Screenbook Maker REQUIRES:

  • Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000/XP. Windows 95 is NOT supported.
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 or later.

Known bugs/issues:

  • This software requires IE 5.5 or greater. If you do not have IE 5.5 or higher installed on your system, you will not be able to install this software.
  • Some systems may have problems restoring the default screen resolution.
  • Some printers may not print all pages of a Screenbook.

If these or any other problems occur, please contact us at support@screenbooks.net. Since this software is still undergoing testing, any problems we can duplicate we will fix as soon as possible.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Save the zip file from the link above to your desktop.
  2. Unzip the zip file to your desktop.
  3. Run setup.exe.

Help files for Screenbook Maker will only be viewable when you are connected to the Internet.


Other Files:

Screenbook Maker help files are not in the above distribution. Instead, they are online and they automatically appear in Screenbook Maker when the computer being used is connected to the Internet. When offline, the help files do not appear. If you would like to be able to view the Help files when offline, download this zip file. Then:

  • Make a new bookshelf called "My Help"
  • Download this zip file and drag it on to the Screenbook Maker main window.

If you have a version of Screenbook Maker greater than 0.9.150, you don't need to get the full update, you can simply download the executable file, and replace your existing sbm.exe file in the Program Files / Screenbook Maker folder.
